Одним из главных достоинств представленного в рамках выставки MWC 2016 смартфона LG G5 является поддержка сменных модулей: LG Cam Plus для управления камерой и звуковой усилитель LG Hi-Fi Plus от Bang & Olufsen. Отличительной чертой последнего стала его совместимость с практически любым современным девайсом, поддерживающим стандарт USB Type-C. В сети появилась видеозапись, наглядно демонстрирующая эту особенность в действии. Как видно из приведенного видеофрагмента, ЦАП Hi-Fi Plus исправно работает в связке с Google Nexus 6P. Способ подключения, разумеется, заметно отличается, однако основные функции усилителя сохраняются вне зависимости от того, в связке с каким смартфоном он используется. Разница заключается лишь в том, что в случае с любым девайсом, кроме LG G5, усилитель подключается к смартфону посредством кабеля USB Type-C. Совместим ли аксессуар с ПК — пока неизвестно.

LG G5’s DAC Will Work With USB Type-C Devices

Apart from sporting a brand new design, one of the key features of the LG G5 would be its module accessories. This allows users to swap out components so that they can opt to get a camera grip, larger battery, or a DAC from Bang & Olufsen. Speaking of DACs, we’re sure that some of you guys might be a tad jealous about the accessory which seems like it could be exclusive to the LG G5.

The good news is that it is not. According to a recent video uploaded by TK Bay, it seems that the LG G5’s DAC will play nicely with just about any device that can connect via USB Type-C. If you watch the video above, all you would need is a USB Type-C cable, connect it to the DAC, and then connect it to the other device, and you’re good to go!

This means that you should be able to use it with other USB Type-C phones like the Nexus 6P or the OnePlus 2. We also imagine that because it uses USB Type-C that you could potentially use it with computers as well, like the 12-inch Retina MacBook from Apple, or the new Google Chromebook Pixel, both of which have Type-C ports that you could connect the DAC to.

That being said, we haven’t actually tested it ourselves so we’re not sure if it will work even if connected, but in theory it should, so if you are looking for a new portable DAC for your laptop or smartphone, this could be an option.
